FTBE stands for: Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English. This is a skills development course for teachers with experience and those who complete it successfully will have an excellent position in an ever-specialising ELT market. The qualification was established by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board.

The course is aimed at practising teachers with a first degree, a relevant teaching qualification and one year's English Language Teaching experience. It is appropriate for both general English teachers, and people from the Business English teaching world.

The course aims to assist teachers of general English to acquire a good working knowledge and a range of practical skills necessary for Business English Teaching. It is not intended for those with substantial experience in teaching Business English.
